Algemene voorwaarden/terms and conditions

1) General
These terms and conditions apply to all reservations, stays, services, and agreements with B&B Chateau la Commanderie. By making a reservation, the guest agrees to these terms and conditions. The accommodation is operated by B&B Chateau la Commanderie. La Commanderie reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The terms applicable at the time of booking shall remain valid for confirmed reservations.

Accommodation concept
B&B Chateau la Commanderie is an adults-only boutique accommodation centered around tranquility, relaxation, and small-scale luxury. The accommodation welcomes guests aged 18 years and older only. Pets are not permitted. Group bookings, retreats, events, and special gatherings are only allowed with prior written approval from the accommodation. Parties, loud gatherings, and excessive disturbance are strictly prohibited.

Reservation
A booking is only final once all the necessary information has been provided to us, you have received a confirmation email and you have paid the deposit. Please always bring the confirmation email with you and show it at reception on arrival.

Prices and Taxes
All prices are stated in euros and include VAT unless otherwise specified. Prices may be changed at any time. Confirmed reservations will not be affected. Tourist taxes or local government charges introduced or amended by authorities may be charged additionally where legally required.

Payment
A deposit of 30% of the total reservation amount is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than at the day of arrival. Failure to make timely payment may result in cancellation of the reservation without refund of amounts already paid. By making payment, the guest confirms acceptance of these terms and waives unjustified chargebacks or payment disputes.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. Cancellation charges are calculated based on the total reservation amount:
● Up to 30 days before arrival: free cancellation
● 29 to 14 days before arrival: 50%
● 13 to 7 days before arrival: 75%
● 6 days or fewer before arrival or in case of no-show: 100%
No refunds will be provided for early departures. Guests are strongly advised to obtain travel and cancellation insurance.

Check-in and Check-out
EN Check-in is available between 16:00 and 19:00. Check-out must take place no later than 11:00. The room should be available for cleaning at 10.30h. Late check-out is only possible upon prior approval and may incur additional charges. In accordance with French law, guests are required to present a valid identification document or passport upon arrival for registration purposes.

House Rules and Conduct
Quiet hours apply between 23:00 and 08:00. Non-registered visitors are only permitted with prior approval from the accommodation. B&B Chateau la Commanderie reserves the right to deny access or immediately terminate a guest’s stay without refund in cases of nuisance, aggressive behavior, violation of house rules, illegal activities, drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, disturbance, property damage, or safety risks.

Smoking and Drug Policy
All indoor areas are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted in the designated outdoor smoking area/deck. The use of cigarettes, cigars, vapes, and e-cigarettes inside the accommodation is prohibited. The use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs, including cannabis, is prohibited anywhere on the property. Violation of the smoking or drug policy will result in a minimum damage charge of €250.

Swimming Pool
Use of the swimming pool is entirely at the guest’s own risk. There is no lifeguard or supervision present. Alcohol consumption in and around the pool is entirely the responsibility of the guest. Glassware is strictly prohibited in or around the swimming pool area. In the event of broken glass in or near the pool, B&B Chateau la Commanderie reserves the right to charge all resulting costs, including draining, cleaning, inspection, repairs, safety measures, and loss of income. The minimum compensation charge for such incidents is €3,500.

Dinners and Allergies
Guests must communicate allergies, intolerances, or dietary requirements in writing prior to dinner service. Despite careful preparation, cross-contamination cannot be fully excluded. Consumption of meals and alcohol is entirely at the guest’s own risk.

Parking
Parking and use of the premises are entirely at the guest’s own risk. B&B Chateau la Commanderie is not liable for damage to vehicles, theft, vandalism, or loss of belongings from vehicles.

Liability
B&B Chateau la Commanderie is not liable for:
● loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;
● accidents, injuries, or illness during the stay;
● internet disruptions;
● power outages;
● water supply interruptions;
● extreme weather conditions;
● insects or natural environmental conditions;
● force majeure situations beyond reasonable control.
The total liability of B&B Chateau la Commanderie shall at all times be limited to the amount paid by the guest for the reservation, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

CCTV and Privacy
CCTV surveillance is present in certain areas of the property for security purposes. By entering the premises, guests consent to reasonable CCTV monitoring in public or shared areas. Personal data is handled confidentially in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Force Majeure
In cases of force majeure, including natural disasters, wildfires, extreme heat, pandemics, strikes, government measures, water shortages, power outages, or safety risks, B&B Chateau la Commanderie reserves the right to cancel, modify, or reschedule reservations without liability.

Governing Law
All agreements and reservations are exclusively governed by French law. Any disputes shall be exclusively handled by the competent court in Tours, France.
